We've had a hell of a good time lately, but like all good times, it had to end. Isn't it funny that the quickest weeks of the year are your holidays?
I have a tale or two to tell about this holiday, most of the tales are good but....... there is one unbelieveably bad one. The tales will have to wait though because we are back to reality now.
We got home on Sunday afternoon and actually managed to stay awake until about 8pm but, tiredness got the better of us and we went to bed. I didn't fall asleep, I lapsed into unconsciousness and woke up at 3.30 am. I was completely wide awake, Sparks had been wide awake since 2.30 so we got up. I was literally banging down the doors of Tesco at 8am, did all the shopping, went to the bank etc. Sparks had gone to work and I was working the night shift. I went back to bed in the afternoon and couldn't sleep. By the time I went to work that night, it was bed time and I was tired. Sparks had zonked out at 7pm..
I managed to survive the night, fuelled by caffeine and good colleagues, and slept like a log yesterday. I am still totally on New Zealand time. When I got up, I found that Sparks was being sent to Poland. He left for a hotel in East Midlands last night and flew this morning in the howling wind. Aeroplanes were bouncing down the runway on landing and take-off but they still flew.
He has landed in Poland now and says it's like a spring day over there. He has borrowed my camera and my NZ memory card is in it, so the tales will have to wait.
I am off tonight and am trying to stay up for as long as I can, in order to sleep the night and get back on UK time. It's never going to work though, I'm absolutely jiggered now!!!!!
Maybe I'll just lie down for an hour or so and listen to the wind howling outside my window and dream of the nice spring day that may be coming our way soon...
