British Summertime.

What does that mean to you?
To me it means that the rain might not have ice crystals in it.
But it won't be warm enough to have your shower out of doors.
Yes British Summertime started at 2am this morning(who decided such a ludicrous time for it to start?).
This means that for me(and I reckon many other people too) I will have something akin to jet lag, but without the interesting diversion of going somewhere hot and sunny, for the next three weeks.
It means it will be my job to alter all the clocks on the digital devices(the ones that are not programmed to do it themselves)......I will do it with bad humour and will mutter mild expletives through gritted teeth.

British Summertime...and the wettest weekend for many a while.
Washing lurking damp in the machine.....waiting for a break in the clouds where I might just risk putting the stuff out for an airing...was unlucky yesterday...those breaks in the cloud were just enough to get it on the line, get back in the house and put the kettle on......then a mad scramble to get it all in again.
Once I didn't manage it and the stuff had to go back in the washer for a repeat spin to take the rain out of the clothes.

Normally at the weekend I go for a jaunt...or we go for a jaunt......Last week couldn't go out. Had to wait in for a chest of drawers to be delivered.....the week before the weather spoiled my plans...likewise yesterday.
So I was in something of a 'brown' mood.

I spent the day crafting......cutting gluing, embossing.
The back bedroom looked like a paper massacre had taken place.
Making these lacy cards makes ever so many bits....and they tend to find their way onto the floor.....the stairs...in fact everywhere that I went there seemed to be lacy bits.

Having said that, the creativity lifted my mood.......I made lots of components which will be incorporated into my cards....and I made a few more cards to go into the collection.
Pictures show a couple of cards awaiting personalisation...with blank fronts.Tell me if you are bored with all this and I will stop...stop showing you, but I will keep on making.

It's been a long time since I experienced English weather first hand Margaret. I do remember the last time, however, I was on the back of a motorcycle in lots and lots of bitterly cold rain. That was in 1985, and it was June. I really wasn't prepared for it! That being said, I enjoy seeing the photos here on Accy Web of Accrington Spring - the greenness and signs of new life make me feel quite envious and wish I was there. I woke up this morning to minus 10 degrees. Bright and sunny, but oh so cold. I'm guessing that for we who live in the northern hemisphere, warmer weather can never get here soon enough!
I love these lacy cards, Margaret. I never get tired of seeing your new creations. Here's to Spring and Summer, whenever it arrives :)

Thanks Carolyn and Jason for the comments.
It has been a very wet start to British Summertime and we had the logburner going early this afternoon.
Himself had been out in the cold and damp cutting wood and was 'starved'.
I cooked a nice roast of Brisket with all the trimmings and he has sat and dozed by the fire most of the afternoon.
Glad to hear that you both like the cards.

I did my washing today ..and the washer just finished and spots of rain appeared on the window .. so that was that ...thrown in the dryer mind you it hasn't stopped raining since!!!

I'm sure you're aware,It's been lovely the past few days......So summer is nearly over ;).

I don't wish to goad the weather trolls but,it's suppose to rain on Sun/Mon and I kinda like the rain
