Bury Match Thread

[Red-Osbornello]

I'm with Redraine & Cashy. At the moment it's just the occasional drizzle in Accy.

[accybeme]

non stop steady light rain now, I can't find any news on a pitch inspection, hope this is not going to be another last minute match postponement

[SHAKER1]

Thanks for keeping me posted. I work at MRI hospital and its been raining steadily for the last hour. Will you keep your pitch covered at all?

Am pretty sure the forecast is for the rain to stop at around 8pm. If its covered until 7pm and the rain remains light then surely the pitch would be okay.

As a side note I am predicting a comfortable home win tonight so will be cursing the game if it is on.

Pitch will be inspected when referee arrives, normal practice

[SHAKER1]

Accy say it's on as it stands, but if the rain gets heavier there might be a pitch inspection - no plans for that as yet though, plus they expect nothing more than on/off showers after 5pm.

Generally, it's not the length of time rain is falling that is the problem, it's the amount in a short space. The drains can usually cope with steady rain over a long period, but heavy rain over a short period can overload them - that's why last year's game got postponed.

Taken from our MB - sounds hopeful

Aye but a decision when the Ref arrives is far from normal practice.

[Redraine]

Raining quite hard now but not torrential. Just the typical Stanley match day pre- game weather!

[accybeme]

match ref expected to inspect at 5-00 pm according to asfcofficial twitter at 14-53 pm

ASFC Twitter have just added a current pitch photo ( taken around 3.15 pm ??? ) definitely looks to be "holding water" .

Doesn't look good ,water now standing in several places and rain not getting easier......needs to ease off but another 3-4hours of this rain and there's no chance.

The forecast from 6pm is very heavy, this is just a shower in comparison

Pitch inspection at 4:30 - Accrington Stanley FC

[lancsdave]

If the club were to put a call out for a load of forkers shouldn't have a problem finding them

[accybeme]

Agree with Chubbyman I,m only 1/2 mile from the ground and my guess is this will be another game called off, if that is to be the case I only hope it is before 6-30 when the shakers coaches leave, it certainly looks like Kev Ellison weather

[andyd]

Pitch inspect 4_30 it will be off.

The monsoon arrived ...

[AccyMad]

My thoughts are it will definitely be on, unless a monsoon descends.

You & your flamin' predictions
