Is it open or closed?  My kids used to love going there for a week.

I note theres a meeting to be held of the Chaigley trust on the 3rd of November and its open to all. Its in the Queen Elizebeth rooms at Scathcliffe house (f you go then look out in the foyer for my accy stanley pics)

It's now a private house.I to spent a good holiday there went three times in early sixties.

Wonder why theers an AGM for the chaigley trust and its a public agm.. strange.

Pity there not doing the weeks for the kids any more.. Mine now go to PGL ? or summat like that organised by the school.. bit of a trek and only long weekend once a year

Went there 2 or 3 times in the 70's.Was quite enjoyable and met many a new person there.Shame now that it is apparently a private house

Janet as far as I can see you got it right.. You said its now a private house and thats what the article says.. business man bought it for 600k and turned it into a private house..

The AGM is because the trust is still going...and it would seem at least 600k in the kitty :)

with all this money, could the trust not reopen somewere else or would it take more money than the 600k. they must have made a fair amount of interest on the money by now.

went in the 60s a few times, one time a guy i used to know, fell from a tree n hurt himself, wouldn,t be you beechy would it? was gonna start a thread on Chaigley, but did a search n up popped this lol, used to donate weekly from me wage for the home, pity more didn't could still possibly be open.

I went a couple of times in the 80's, we had a laugh, saw a ghost there too.
