clematis

My clematis grows as per the label 2metres each year,I cut it back every year to about a half a metre about mid December,some longer stems were left this time as they showed signs of larger buds and it looks like they may sprout.What I would like to know if anyone has any experience of growing clematis is are the new buds likely to grow 2metres?

I have just planted 2 climbing roses one orange one white but they will take a year or two to get any hight to them.

i planted a climbing rose,prob early November,it`s got plenty of growing tips and leaves but loads of aphids when I checked this morning!

Had a look at my clematis today,best it`s ever looked so early on.Three or four big buds,short stems but very early to see flowerbuds!

Looks like the latest frost has done the big clematis buds in.They look proper limp,but I have left them on,hoping they will pick up....

Never recovered from that frost so cut it right back,now new growth about 2 ft
