David Bowie

Yep knew about it, seen him once as a solo artist in some boozer in London early days, Top Performer had a great career, think packed it in following a heart scare a few years ago, wish him well.:);)

I saw it in the paper this morning, can't say I was a big fan, but some of his stuff was okay

I like Bowie for his originality (surprising that so many 'pop' stars my age were so good!). There have been excellent one later but I feel the whole music scene has declined since the 80s. All a far cry from when we used to listen to 2-way family favourites in the 50s.

Why do yeh say its surprising dave? They had to be good way back, was very little to enhance the sound/music, n before Bowie, was sod all really.;)

I wasn't a big fan of Bowie, but I recognise he had talent...it just didn't float my boat.
It was Dylan for me...Bob Dylan, not the wacky rabiit from the Magic Roundabout.

Ya cashy, some of the so called "Pop Stars" of today will have long faded into oblivion by the time they make 65, very few have real talent today and certainly haven't got staying power

Bowie was top boy during most of the 70's and at one time had 5 albums in the top ten at the same time ..very clued up and used the media for his own advantage.

Agree n there was some Great Albums before Ziggy n the masses switched on, Hunky Dory, n The Man Who Sold The World, being two,;)

Yes and Space Oddity... still listen to to them even now...he didn't have much success until he clicked on to the glam rock appeal

Last one I promise - keeping the best till last!

Fantastic make-up again showing of those weird captivating eyes!

Love the whole glam rock thing - love dressing up that's probably why!;) :D

I read an interview with him, apparently he's decided not to carry on with music because of his heart scare - he said he'd rather live a longer normal life than get ill carrying on with music.

There was radio program about him - he got a lot of knock backs early on from around 62 to 68 he was struggling to get a break and getting a lot of refusals!
