Sometimes I just want to take the hard drive that has Linux installed on it and dump it into a bathtub filled with dirty water-- Dirty water that bathed a whole family on "bath night".
Why the rant? OK You asked.
I just taken a picture on my phone and rather than post a thread on here with my phone I wanted to nice and easily do it from the desktop. Plug the phone in. Can I access the microSD card? Nope I get "error initialising camera" last time I checked I didn't wish to use the camera. Reset my phone to the same message upon plugging it in.
How can I sell Linux as a viable choice and alternative to the evils of M$ to people if this is the everyday occurrence with devices
"I have an Ipod" Oh my. If an Ipod isn't modified with Linux it will make your Linux cry. Bleh
Resets of both phone and PC brought the same result. So I switched from Gnome3 to Unity(desktop that is shipped with Ubuntu) and TA-DA the microSD now reads upon plugging it in.
So looks like I shall stick to Unity for now. Seems to be too many bugs in GnomeShell for my liking, though I prefer it to Unity. Linux Mint is a viable option for those blindly reaching out to Linux after being scolded by M$. But Mint try too hard to make their product look like a version of windows. Good for those starting up though,
