Finished.......at last.

The renovations are completed.
The decorator did the last of the painting today, rolled up his dust sheets, collected the paint tins, the scraps of wall paper, brushes, rollers etc and left late this afternoon.
The house is perfumed with the punget(but clean) odour of paint.
We are creeping around avoiding touching the doors, or brushing up against the door frames....The last thing I want is fluffy paintwork.....and somehow black jumpers seem attracted to the 'country haze' paint.

So, it is all done.
There will be no more tradesmen coming at breakfast time and spending time working to get the place ship shape.
Now comes the pleasant bit.....the choosing of furniture, rugs....the deciding where pictures, mirrors are going to live.....you know, the finishing touches.
Himself will be busily replacing the door furniture once the paint on the doors has dried hard enough.
Me, I am going to be putting my feet up and smiling..........it has been a very hard slog, but.......worth it.

You made it through! You both must be greatly relieved, and looking forward to doing the final touches. I'm happy for you :)

The early days were the worst......and of course having to be out of the house over Christmas wasn't the greatest.
But it has all been an experience.....a bit like the Curates Egg...some good bits some not so good and some bits were bl**dy awful.
A lot of work, a lot of money........but it had to be done
