Half-term means........

I never really took notice of half term holidays....you get really out of the habit when your own kids are grown up. The only reason I notice now is because daughter has gone back to college.....she now realises why I banged on so much about getting good exam results while she was at school. We have her 14 month old baby while she goes to school again.......I call him 'monkey' (not disrespectfully) because he just has to climb everything in sight........so now I DO notice when half term is because we get a break from the monkey.
I am sure that looking after him has made me greyer.......and I never seem to stop saying 'you're going to fall off that'......or 'come away from that' or 'get down' or 'leave that alone'. I think I am going to make a tape with all these admonitions on it and just leave it to play.
Today I had the luxury of staying in bed until 9am...... because I knew I could shower and have my breakfast in peace. I didn't have to share my lunch...... it doesn't seem to matter what i give monkey for lunch... he always seems to want what I am having. I suppose I had better make the most of it..... it only lasts a week!
