just seen this on bbc website ..

BBC News - When was the High Street at its best?

its about the tv programme starting tomorrow night .. when they took a high street back to victorian, edwardian, 30s, 50s and 70s ... i think it will be interesting to watch ..

Anyway .. what 'time' would you want to go shopping in ... one of the retailers says edwardian times .. customers are saying the 50s .. when you got customer service and fresh food and knew where it had come from ...
 
fer me the 50s n early 60s were best, proper shops, staff who knew their jobs, polite n wanted to help yah, much of that has sadly vanished.

by the way i missed the first 15mins of it .. but what i saw it was interesting .. and im glad i dont eat the bread from victorian times .......

Yeh, that's what I meant by catch up Shill .. sure it will be there at some stage ... hopefully, tomorrow ... nowt on on Wednesdays.
 
theres something else on tonite .. its on at 10.35pm .. after the news .. taking your keys away .. which is about when are you too old to drive ..

Just might watch that, before my Father died I was having a terrible time trying to convince him it was time to hang his keys up, because quite frankly he was a danger to the public and himself, very sad but very true
 
anyone watch it ... thought it was brilliant again .. especially when they took the fellas off ... just like they were going off to war ... made you realise what the women of that era went through ... especially when waving off their sons to war ...
 
Yeah, seen it and enjoyed it again. Thought provoking when the men got their call up papers.

Dya see the state of that boars head after the young lad had a go at decorating it with icing sugar...was anyone else thinkin "Bukakke" :eek::D
 
think it was the 'obesity soap' they said that you wouldnt be able to sell it now ... think someone will have a go now .... lol
