Holiday letters...

Tackler
Well, what a week. I have been back to work after my week off, and it has been busy. I haven't even had time to blog due to my working lates and long days.
I have had a letter this morning from our holiday company Belleair. After my second letter to them and sending the photographs of the sh1thole that we had to stay in, they have finally offered compensation. It's the usual type of letter, accepting no responsibility but making an offer of compo, as a gesture of goodwill. It will be £129.65, so not to be sniffed at, but here's the thing...........Do we accept it???
If we don't accept it, then I am going to have to do another letter (which I don't have time to do). Sparks is working away, and he doesn't have time to do it either. I will go to Althams today and discuss it with them. I am inclined to accept it and put it towards our next holiday. I will speak to Sparks on Skype tonight and see what he thinks.
I have 3 days off now, so will try to get a bit more of my assignment done. We also have to do a presentation for this module, which has to be done next monday. I have been also working on that but couldn't put it on powerpoint, as I don't have PP at home. I have managed to put it on at work during my break and have saved it on a disk, so at least the presentation is done. I just have to present it now (in front of 25 people).........Yikes!!!! I feel like I'm going for an interview...

Don't accept Lettie......your ruined holiday was worth more to you than that.
Write to them and threaten to contact BBC's Watchdog to let them publicise their crap treatment......I'm sure you will get more - you should get back the full price of your holiday. I know you are busy, but really a letter won't take long to write...and you need to show the company that you won't be fobbed off. Their Accommodation IS their responsibility....and they, in effect broke their contract with you when they sent you to accommodation that was obviously sub-standard......you have photographic evidence which proves this to be true. Take 'em to the cleaners!

Lettie.....a tip for your presentation.....pretend you can see everyone of your audience sat without their clothes on.....it might give you a chuckle and it will make them seem far less intimidating. If the audience is your own peer group.....they will be on your side anyway. I liked doing presentations.....it must be the exhibitionist in me
