I'm on strike!

There will be NO Christmas dinner at our house today..... I am on strike!
I have withdrawn my labour and am here with my feet up on our bed..... A nice strong brew of tea on the bedside table beside me.

This year there was just going to be the two of us for dinner. I usually cook for the old gentleman next door, but his grand-daughter has made a surprise trip over from her home in Spain, and she has booked Christmas lunch out for them both.

I was going to cook a piece of pork loin, but they are all large joints.....himself had said the other day that he would settle for pork chops......with apple sauce and grated cheese sprinkled on the top and cooked until the cheese goes golden brown.....I was going to be doing steamed carrots, red cabbage and broad beans.
It would have been a substantial meal.
Anyway, this morning when it is too late to thaw out a pork loin he decided he didn't want what he'd agreed to yesterday......so that's it!
He can fend for himself.
I am cooking NOTHING.
He has had it. I might even burger off over the road later on today and spend the evening at daughters house.
If he has a nothing sandwich, he won't starve.

Anyway, I hope your Christmas Day is going well, and that Santa left you with more than just a hole in your stocking!

Aww Margaret,he`s a bloke,surprise him..

He won`t starve you are right..

Eat together,it`s Christmas.

Steve....no can do.
I have taken it to the conveyor of the Domestic technicians union.
They tell me that I am within my rights and all labour is withdrawn for 24 hours.
He is an obdurate old geezer....and right now I don't like him overmuch.
In fact I think I would swap him for an empty crisp packet.

im not cooking either Margaret ... and we are having pork loin ... the spugsters the chef .. and hes in the kitchen now .. finishing it all off the pork the sliver he let me have is very nice .. merry Christmas to you both and to Nicola and family ....

no I haven't Margaret ... its what they call self preservation .... hes a better cook than me .. and if you ever seen my kitchen after ive been cooking you know why hes doing the cooking lol

It got a kick in the nuts Mick.
What happened to goodwill to all women?
Deciding at the last minute to change the eating plans for the day was calculated to test me. It was impossible to thaw out a piece of pork and be able to cook it in time for dinner - even a late dinner.
So he got to cook his own. And let me tell you things are still very frosty in this neck of the woods.....no snow just lots of hard frost!
