It's not Fair......!

Spindleshanks has been off school all week.
He was poorly on Friday with bad belly ache and a high temperature.
My nursing instincts...never far away, came to the fore.
I asked him if he had been for a poo. He looked at me in disgust....like why did I have to ask these personal questions when he was feeling lower than a bugs belly......?
'yes' was his reply.
Where was the pain? He pointed to his middle.
I pointed to his belly button and asked if the pain was there.
'No' was his reponse.
'Does the pain go anywhere else' I questioned.
'No' he replied.
'What kind of pain is it' was my next question.
'It's just bellyache, that's all. Stop asking all these stupid questions'
That was me told.

He definitely wasn't well.....he laid on the sofa all day.....a wheatie bag clutched to his belly.......he shivered and shook from time to time despite the Calpol to control his temperature.....and in the afternoon he was sick all over his fleecy blanket, himself, the carpet and the dog(who was shocked to feel the shower of warm smelly stuff raining round his ears).

The raised temperature is always a trigger for fever blisters round his mouth ....and they appeared on sunday....all over his mouth inside and out. He couldn't eat anything much....but he did have some tomato soup through a straw.

With him being poorly we have had him over with us in the afternoon....his daddy had him in the mornings before he went off to work.

Miss Bossy Drawers has felt quite left out.
She thinks that Spindles had been having a good time at our house while she was slaving away at lessons.
Yesterday, she told me that today she was having the day off too....'the teachers are on strike' she told me.
We had had a letter to say that Miss BD could go to school...her teacher isn't on strike....so when we told her that she had to go to school this morning, she was not best pleased and trundled down the path grumbling that 'it isn't fair'.
'No' I told her...'it isn't fair until Easter'

hate it when grandkids are ill, both of mine are just getting oer tonsilitus n are not best pleased wi effects.

Spindles is something of a bug magnet...if there is anything in the way of viruses/bugs going he puts his hand up and say Me! Me! Me!....Please let it be Me.
And it takes him a while to get over them too.
Still off his grub and lethargic too.
