The attached photograph was taken on the super new-look Broadway this morning, though this is in the bit that hasn't been "improved".

It speaks volumes about the state of the retail experience in the Town Centre when even Charity shops feel compelled to resort to holding a SALE to entice custom.

I went down town and see that the Yorkshire bank are also having a new years sale, hows that work? they'll be having a buy 1 get 1 free next !

I suppose like any other shops they end up with stock they've had for a while, so I suppose it must work.

I've posted before at how daft people are at thinking they've bagged a bargain. After working in fashion/retail for many years, I never ceased to be amazed at how many times I was asked 'is it in the sale?' A red sale ticket, and a reduced price, no matter what the actual price is, is a mighty incentive to most people.

Still brought a smile to my mug though.:)

Does this apply to banks :)
dashes off to cash machine at Yorkshire bank, if I ask for £20 it might give me £30

Cancer research sell new as well as used goods so I'd assume that sales mainly for the new goods that they've had a while .

Still its a sorry sight when this happens. If it has reached the stage that a charity orginisation has to hold a sale to make money then its a poor do.
