Phew!!!! It's been a busy weekend so far. Sparky goes away on monday to work in Italy for a month. We have been trying to cram a few things in that we have been unable to do before, due to me being on nights.
On friday, we picked up our theatre buddy (Rindy) and went to see a play at Bolton Octagon. We've seen some cracking stuff there but unfortunately this play was a bit dull. Not only was it boring but it was also quite long. I was stifling yawns all the way through it. All credit to the actors though for having to learn all those lines.
Yesterday we had tickets to a gig in Manchester. We decided to catch the bus in the afternoon, get there early and go bar hopping. We were there for about 3pm and headed off to student land, stopping in a couple of bars along the way. We had a very pleasant afternoon, chatting and people watching. We had a quick meal in one of the bars and then headed to the Academy to see the Paul Weller Connection and the Jamm. It was a great show. Lots of Jam classics, people stage diving, dancing and generally having a brilliant time. We walked back into Manchester for the last bus. My feet were killing me and I had to take my boots off on the bus (and open a window).
Unfortunately, we are somewhat delicate today. I use the term we, as in the royal we.......meaning me.
I have booked us in for a meal at the carvery up at Whitakers this afternoon. I reckon that a good session at the trough might help us to get a bit more mileage out of the weekend..
University starts again tomorrow, I'm less than thrilled at the prospect....
