Well the trees up, the fireplace is festooned with holly, and the wreath is on the door. It was easier than I feared it was going to be, all the little fiddly bows I've left in the box still, but it still looked nice and Christmasy when I came home from Mum's last night.
Mick and Marg both commented that I should use the computer to write the addresses for my Christmas cards, and I thank them for their comments. I was going to write that Mum mentioned the same thing to me, but I forgot to write it in yesterdays blog. At the moment I don't have Word, because it was lost when I had to have the pc wiped when I got a virus. Chav's sorting it soon, so next year will be a lot easier. Hurrah.
The cards will all be done somehow by the time of the last post, and all my Christmas shopping will be done in time to deliver the presents to Santa. Sometimes I wonder that my life must be so lacking in excitment that I must test myself by doing everything at the very last minute. I do it with the laundry, the cleaning, and now the cards. It's something I've always done though, but I always manage to get things achieved on time. It's like being late, I never am. Rather than setting off for something in plenty of time, I will plan whatever journey to the last minute, taking into consideration the likelyhood of any delays, and I am always on time, I'm never ever late, and I hate lateness.
I feared I was going to have another sleepless night last night. It got to six am and I was still wide awake, but thankfully I eventually mamaged to get off and have nearly five hours sleep, after using every known trick, including reading and milky drinks.
Today I feel ok, and am looking forward to Stanley's last home game before Christmas. It's a wonderfully crisp winter's day. The sky is blue, there's a hoar frost on all the trees in the nature reserve, and the ducks are playfully skating on the lodge.
I think I'll just go and turn the lights on the tree, and make it even more beautiful.
