Lazy boy.

I'm so bad at letter writing. I can't really blame it on the fact that I now struggle to hold a pen, as I've always been like this.

When I was a child, and had no one to write to, I longed for the day when I could use one of the nice stationary sets I used to get as presents, an easy gift for a little boy who everyone knew wasn't into guns and soldiers and the like.

By the age of ten I had four penpals. There was Nangayli Talk in Papua New Guinea, Bobby Blue in Florida and Sophie and Yves in Charleville in France. It did start to peter out by the time I was sixteen, but I do wonder what happened to them. Nangayli was older than me and wanted to be a teacher. He'll be married now with grown up children and a headmaster of a nice school in the steamy tropics. Bobby Blue? He'll have become involved in the adult entertainment business, but sadly died in the early 90's of Aids. Sophie, a very grown up blond, beautiful girl, that I had the most dreadful crush on? She'll be unhappily married to a man who is rich and respectable. She'll have forgotton getting caught stealing cosmetics from Boots in Blackburn when she was thirteen. Yves will be a Maths teacher like both his parents had been. God knows what they think happened to me.

Now my best friends Milly in Milan and John and Don in Glasgow keep up to date on my life through this blog. I had a text off Don on Saturday saying he was glad I was sleeping better.

The wonders of technology. Such an aid for a lazy boy.
