i really feel for our dan so much that i ache with fear for him, fear of the unknown , he said to me this lunch time " nan why me " how do you answer that? i just cuddled his head & said that i didn't know & that he wasn't the only young lad suffering in this way & that he must not loose his contact with his mates after all we all need friends.

Mez, I can understand when Dan asks that question.
One minute he had his life all mapped out...aspirations, aims, with no thought of something like this crashing down on him......it is unfair. But then to inflict it on anyone else would be equally unfair too.
It is a test. Life is a test. He has the support and love of a strong family...and friends that will lift him when he most needs it. I don't know if he has faith too, I am not necessarily talking religious faith, but faith in a future......because he has to have a point of focus.

My gran used to have a saying that maybe you can use. It is 'God only sends the burden to fit the back'

Mez, my heart goes out to you and to him. I have no religion, I can't pray for him, but I can hold him in my thoughts and I will do so. Life is so unfair and he doesn't deserve this, none of you do. Chin up - if you can.
