We have been staying with Nicola since Boxing day.......and as anyone knows 'Fish and guests(even family ones) stink after three days' I think that is an Arab proverb.
Being in someone else's space is fraught with dangers.
It is not possible for any of the parties to have a disagreement without it being over heard.
Not that there have been too many of those.
The children gave up their beds and the sleeping arrangements for them have been less that comfortable.
I have been itching to get home since before the New year....but at that time it really wasn't possible......though I would have managed.
I don't really care that the place has bare walls and echoes like a cave.
It didn't matter that the TV wasn't set up.....I think I could happily live without the TV anyway.
Today we have been lifting and shifting furniture into the living room...we have some temporary furniture, a small rug and this morning I moved the TV from it's resting place on our bed and installed it in the living room.
So tonight we will be leaving Chez Nicola and Gregs.....I will be sleeping in my own bed(aaaah, bliss).
The camp bed which has served me well can be folded up and slotted back into it's little niche....the children can get back to sleeping in their own beds and we can be out from under Nicola's feet.
thank you Nicola...your hospitality has been 'par excellence'.......and has allowed me to get stuff done which would have taken much longer if we had been living in the house.
You might even have broken your dad's habit of eating 'prison meals'....if it's Tuesday then it will be cottage pie for tea...that kind of thing.
We are still not fully organised, but I can see the light!
