Since coming back from Llandudno, Ma has been hankering to go off again.
She spent the whole weekend poring over the brochures....whetting her appetite.
She phoned himself and asked if it would be alright to rob him of my presence for the week of the 19th of March....she always does this.....Asks the man of the house, I mean.
She says it does no harm at all, to let him think he has a say in what goes on!
Himself said 'Be my guest' or words to that effect.......I think he likes the thought that he can have a curry and have the house fumigated before I arrive back....that and a whole king size bed to sprawl out on.
So On Monday Ma phoned Robinsons......
'I'd like to book a Monday til Friday break at the Esplanade in Llandudno.....!9th of March, please'
'Sorry, Dorothy(they know her by her first name as she rings them regularly) that coach trip is fully booked'
'When is the next one then'?
'The next one to the Espalande is the 23rd of April' said Jade.
'Oh dear, I wanted something a bit sooner than that...never mind, back to the drawing board' said Ma.
She later rang up about Tenby, Scarborough(that makes me shudder.....it is too hilly for the chair...I live in hope of tempting her out of the room on our next jaunt) St Annes........all in March, and all fully booked.
She rang me up most disgruntled....she had sort of banked on going away to the Esplanade....was licking her lips at the thought of the lovely evening meals and the substantial breakfasts.
She didn't like being thwarted. Having her plans so cruelly crushed.
Me, I am of the opinion that we weren't meant to go. What is for you won't go by you.
Anyway, Ma has looked at other tour companies and did mention Alfa...but I told her that I am not keen to travel with them as we had a bit of a run in with one of their very rude drivers...and it put me off.
'What about Shearings'? she said.....well I am easy......'Where to?' I asked......'Llandudno' came the reply...'but the County, not the Marine'.
I looked online and gave Ma the bad news......fully booked.
So, that is that........ for now!
