Me and my conscience

My trip to Manchester on Friday was the tonic I needed.
Ok, so I was disappointed that Nicola wasn't well enough to come too.
We do have a laugh when we are out together......much as Ma and I have a laugh when we go out an about together.

The haircut wasn't a luxury as such, it was a necessity. I was feeling very scruffy and unkempt, and my grey streaks were making their presence very much seen.......and while I am not that precious about my grey mallen streaks, they (and I) look better when I have a crisp sleek haircut.

When I was in the food hall of the Arndale, queueing up for my latte and caramel custard do-nut, my conscience was pricking me......telling me that I didn't need a caramel custard do-nut, that my middle age spread didn't need the help that such a delicacy would give it.
It told me that my cardigan was already straining at the buttons, and that my bum looked like two little boys fighting under a blanket(oh the cheek of it).
It told me that I should be choosing something healthier....something with green leaves, tomatoes, no mayo.
It told me that I should be drinking a bottle of chilled still water, not a large latte.

I told my conscience that if it didn't shut up I would give it a punch in the mouth...see how healthy that is:D.
That shut the little blighter up!

PS.......Nicola says I should tell you that the Caramel do-nut had a brother in the glass cabinet that was screaming 'Eat me too'.......and I would've done had I had a bit more time:)
