Me, me, me.
I watched the programme about John Lennon's killer Mark Chapman last night. The other week I also read an indepth analysis about the teenage boy who killed his parents in Cheshire, after which he took his girlfriend to America on his father's credit card. He told his girlfriend he was a professional tennis player, and not what he was in reality, a sixth form student.
Apparently both this boy and Chapman suffer from Narcisstic syndrome, a proper mental condition. The main way this is diagnosed is to read the person's writing. If there are a lot of sentences begining with I, that's a major indication.
I was really shocked at that. I do that here. I do tend to put myself at the centre of the blog. I do start a lot of sentences with I. I'm doing it now. I must stop. I really must.
On the other hand I'm not the centre of my world, my family is. This blog is used as a diary, so it is bound to say I and me a lot. I know my faults, and when I pretend to be super confident it's a joke. I have never managed to read Catcher in the Rye, the book that became the bible for Chapman before he killed.
So I think I'm safe from this narcissism complex, besides I wouldn't know who we'd shoot first.
Did I say we?
That's another story.
