Now came the BIG task!

The really big job was going to be clearing the house.
Going through her personal possessions.
This was hard on two levels....she had lots of stuff(even though of late she has disposed of a bit of stuff - there was still lots and lots to go through) and we had emotional attachment to some of her things....they were hard to let go.
A suit she wore to My Daughters wedding....it came from a charity shop and she looked like a million dollars in it.
A cream linen dress that was hand painted with glorious butterflies.
This dress dated back to the early 80's.
I certainly remember her wearing it when I took her to Spain after Dad died...she drew admiring glances in spite of her being over 60.

The wardrobes were chock full of memories, times places, celebrations.
Much of this stuff found its way into the bags that would go off to the Heart Foundation shop.

Nessa, her friend Cathy(who was a go-fer and bagger), Nicola, Marnie and me...we all pitched in.
There were a dozen suitcases on top of the various wardrobes....there were probably twice as many handbags....some of them elegant. Some of them 'tat'....but all of them with memories attached.

We had 12 bags of stuff to be picked up.

The stair lift needed to be removed, and that was done yesterday.
We an see the progress, but there is still a bit to do.
We also visited a solicitor and started the process of winding up the estate.

It has felt a bit like trying to eat an elephant using just a mustard spoon.
I have at times felt a bit over faced.
I just hope it has not showed.
I have really valued the help that has been offered and given.
I know it is going to be quite a while before we see the knots teased out and all the ends neatly tied in a bow....but I am patient, I can wait and it will all be sorted in the end.
