Come on admit / own up / fezz up who's your favourite one.

Grew up with Shirley Bassey belting them out, still like her to this day. Was taken to see Val Doonical when i was younger when we was staying in the Isle Of Man.

Come on admit ...own up :D

Mines Shirley Bassey .... so ner !

I can remember my dad having an 8 track in the car, driving up the motorway and we all belting out "Gold Finger" ... hehehe :D

I grew up with Bing Crosby belting them out and listening to Daniel O'Donnell belting them out for the last 10 years! lol Havent been listening to any this year though having a break from them. If I had to pick which one i'd prefer Bing. I still like the film White Christmas.

When ever i see Bing Crosbys name i somehow always misread it now and say to myself BLING CROSBY :D

Big Shirl is alright, but looks a bit rough in the Christmas M & S advert.

Sinatra and the rest of the crooners you can keep. They didn't sing, just talked. Snappy dressers though.

Can't agree with that. Frank Sinatra could SING and Nat King Cole was a bit of all right too. I can't class Shirley Bassey as "old time" but there were plenty of crooners around in their hayday, before the War. I like Bing but I have recordings of a lot of lesser-known ones too, as I'm very into Big Band music, and at least you could understand what they were singing about. :D

I do love Nat, still need convincing about Frankie though.

Love Big Bands by the way.:)

Who sang Mack The Knife, he died young of peritonitis on the operating table, this guy was a great crooner.

Was that Bobby Darrin?

I'm not really keen on crooners, never liked Sinatra at all but he did actually sing in his younger days he seemed to do more of the talking stuff as he got older.

Now if you really want talkers there's always Telly Savalas and his immortal recording of "If"

I love Shirley Bassey.my favourite 3 of her songs songs are ,
Oh god how much i love you
How do you keep the music playing
Sorry seems to be the hardest word..

If you like balads and nice songs ,have you heard Ollie Austin and Charlie Landsborough .
but my all time favourite singer is Nana Mouskouri .i have followed her songs since 1960. when she sang The White rose of Athens..

Andy Williams!
Two words - Impossible Dream.

Makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand up any day of the week.

Dean Martin

Not exactly crooners but Patsy Cline, Jean Sheppard, Helen Shapiro, Ella Fitzgerald, Connie Francis and Mama Cass can sing to me all day long.
