Yorkshire’s own version of Swan Upping Sunday!

If we throw everything at them, and make good subs, who knows what may happen tonight?

Great result. Backs to the wall for long periods of the game against a good Wednesday side but we fought well throughout the game.

Great battling performance from Stanley - despite the poor defending that led to their goal it was the defence that won the point for t’Owd Reds.
At times Wednesday showed why they are threatening the other play off sides, but thought Stanley did well to restrict them to five shots on target.

And plaudits to the ref  who let the game flow, didn’t blow up every time someone fell over, and got most important decisions right.

Great pressure from Stanley and Sykes header on target earned the equaliser. Keeper fluffed the save and seemed to push the ball onto his own player which rebounded into the net. Stanley heads never dropped after going behind, and kept going to the end. Well done Stanley.

Nice result STANLEY-and sure ****ed off my Wednesday mate who I play golf/drink with...he was not a happy chappy. Serves him right. I'm only annoyed I couldnt follow the game as I was at work and required a covid test, which sadly has come back positive, so by the time I got home to begin isolation, game was all over.

I found the whole night flat as a pancake to be honest.
There was little or no atmosphere and the home fans moaning and groaning from start to finish.
I thought we did ok ....... just ok.
Our opponents to think did Cambridge for 6 the weekend before were poor.
Battling performance .... on to the next one.

Interesting to read your comments. I watched on iFollow so missed the atmosphere in the ground. I thought the Owls looked more likely to score throughout the game, but we managed to prevent them from doing so with lots of effort and good defending. Savin made some crucial saves, but I expect our keepers to be able to make those saves, its there job.

As for the crowd, the attitude of the home fans of "so called big-clubs" always amazes me. Their superior attitude only goes to hinder their own teams performance.

All in all a good point (for once!) away from home. My view from iFollow was that the referee was quite fair and not tooinfluenced by the large home crowd. How did you think Lewis did up-front?
