At this time of year I'm usually on a keep fit drive, whilst watching what I eat so I can loose a few pounds. The reason being that I've usually booked a winter holiday somewhere sunny by this time. This will be the first time in fifteen years that I haven't been away midwinter. Boo hoo.
I did plan to go away with Mum this summer, but with Aunt Ros being so ill, those plans were scuppered. I'd better not complain too much though, as poor Mum hasn't had a holiday away for two years. Last year her holidays coincided with me moving back home, and then afterwards moving into my new house.
I was lucky, as I did have a fantastic holiday in January, when I joined my friends John and Don buying a house in Gran Canaria. The highlight of which was the three day party, at the place with the jacuzzi, after I'd met that Polish girl, and my friends thought I was missing. The memories of that time will have to get me through the long dark winter. Either that or I'll hide away for a week and get a sunbed, and pretend to myself that I've been away.
Anyone got a spare jacuzzi?
