I was just wondering if anybody has got married at accy registry office?
I am getting married there in July and was wondering what it was like.
Is it a good place to get married?
Any replies would be greatly appreciated!

Last time i went to a wedding there it was really nice, better than blackburns reg office
 
i got married there and yes it's nice. Never been to any other so not much to base it on.
 
yes its nice ........have been to a couple of weddings there. nice to take some photo's at st james church just across the rd. good luck & best wishes to you both.

Im getting married there in September-although i havent looked inside yet.....so i hope its nice :D:D:D
 
Thanks,i was a little worried about it because a couple of people have turned their noses up when i said i was getting married there.
Probably just snobs!

Blackburn Register (not actually registry) office has moved now, my sis got married in the old one in Blackburn last year and it was quite nice
 
Went to my Mum's wedding at the Accy one last year, very nice and a good ceremony too. I got married there some years back and it was fine then too !
 
My sister got married in accrington, it was very nice, had the pictures taken at the park on manchester road, bit of a drive but the pics are worth it.
 
We had some of our photos taken in a park even though we married in church because the church itself isn't very picturesque. St. James's is good for photos though if you get married in Accy Register Office. Dunno what the vicar thinks though of all the people having photos taken there when they didn't get married there. :D
 
I got married there just after they had done it up (june 2006) and it was lovely. Beautiful room, really nice ceremony and the staff there made me feel really comfortable and relaxed (was very nervous) Would recommend it

If you want to have your wedding photographs taken using a church as a backdrop why not get married in a church?

We never got to see the room till the wedding day, the room was a mixture of brown and burgandy, didnt go atall well with my dress,but it was a good day, i had all the social workers out on their breaks watching the pics being done ,then i had a wasp go inside the layers in my dress i was in a panic with that, this was back in "97", doesnt seem that long ago.
so when did it close down ?
 
last year just after my sis got married there, she got married in may so sometime after that
 
Have a friend who marries people there (No ..not Margaret R .. :D ).

Will try and have a word to see how he describes the setting. Can only say he is a lovely person and would make any wedding ceremony enjoyable.
