Sounds a bit like a branch of solicitors....Shorn and Shiny....well, that's what I am now.
We were the last clients of the day....now that doesn't always augur well...especially on a Friday.
I didn't really want to have an express cut that left me with sticking plasters on my ears etc. I need not have worried....Alison, my stylist was the best I have ever had. There was none of the inane chatter about what you are doing for the weekend...or have you booked a holiday.
I gave her the instruction that i wanted to look sleek and groomed....and she set about the makeover.......so in about 30 minutes I went from 'explosion in a mattress factory' to shorn and shiny. It is just my usual bob really but i feel far more comfortable with this look.
I told Alison of my aversion to being messed about with and she didn't take the huff.......in fact she said there are quite a few women who feel like that. Damn! There was me thinking that I was unique. She did say that to keep the sleek, groomed look requires regular attendance at a good salon...namely hers!
Still on the subject of hairdressers........have you noticed how the mirrors in these establishments make you look older and decidedly jowly.....?
It is the same with the mirrors in changing rooms of clothes shops - they always seem to make you look fat and over forty. Do these establishments buy their mirrors from a special manufacturer?
Having said that I rarely try clothes on anymore...communal changing facilities saw to that......I'm waiting until they bring in unisex changing rooms.....I might go back then........ just as an observer.
