Snorting mince pies.

I've just returned from seeing my acupuncturist. She was shocked to hear about my Uncle, as she has also been treating him for a month or so as well. Mum went with my cousin to see him last night and it was fairly grim. Apparently there are some very poor souls in there, as well as a big Scottish bloke who is going round trying to strangle people. My Uncle was crying to come home but there wasn't a doctor there to release him, and if he left of his own volition he wouldn't get any more support from the mental health team even at home. The whole thing is like a bad dream, but fingers crossed it will start to get better soon.

The acupuncturist's little boy, who is at Westholme with me neice and nephew, was off school sick. After the treatment I was offered a coffee and a mince pie. Her son decided he perhaps wasn't as sick as he had been, and came downstairs to join us. His Mum always makes me laugh anyway, but when they are together they are a proper double act. They were pretending to be the little boy's grandparents on Christmas morning, complete with word perfect Welsh accents. They were so funny that I choked on a mince pie, and pastry and mincemeat shot out of my nose and mouth, which made them even funnier as they helped me to clean myself up, still in their pretend Welsh accents.

The treatment helps me, but so does spending a couple of hours each week in such a great environment.
