What happened to them putting the plough on the front and pushing the snow to one side? you never see them doing it now

When it snowed on Saturday the plough went along Church St. despite the snow on the road it had the plough up and just whizzed by :confused:
 
do they only plough when it is a certain depth?

Anyone know how close the plough blade is to the road?
 
Don't know but they used to build a wall of snow at the side of my car that was about 18" deep, I don't miss that!
 
Thought my eyes were deceiving me....saw a gritter on Avenue Parade today!!

By the way, as it seems that you guys are shut in because of a little, light snow, why not settle down and watch tonight's Gold Medal game in the World Junior Hockey Tournament. Canada vs USA ... should be a barn burner; the last one went to a shoot out. Beats the hell out of shovelling or hibernating.:D:D:D

Nice of you to offer ... there's a couple of feet of the stuff in my driveway you can work on ... and when the driveway is shovelled, feel free to brush the snow off my car;):D I'm off for a beer, the snow shovel is on the front porch.:theband:
