Spooky or what?

I have been meaning to sort out my craft stuff for quite a while.
My back bedroom isn't a bed room anymore. well, not unless you want to sleep on the floor.
My craft stuff has sort of taken over the room.
Not a problem for me. I am like most crafters. If I see paper that I think might be useful for a project and it is at a reasonable price...I can't help myself. I have to buy it.

Worse still, I never throw my scraps of paper away...they can always be used for something...a flower, a butterfly.
This is a trait that signals you really are a crafter. You save bits of string, ribbon, corrugated cardboard(great for chaps cards..even the ugly brown stuff..cardboard, I mean).
It is almost an obsession...and I have no intention of seeking any kind of therapy. My crafting IS my therapy.

Once upon a day if I was feeling a bit undervalued, grumpy, bad tempered I would buy myself a lippy or a bottle of stuff to spray on my wrists.
I don't do that anymore. I trawl the craft shops and look for fancy paper coloured markers(blendable...that usually means not cheap...not for me the felt tips) cutting dies, embellishments to add to my growing hoard.
The costs work out at about the same(not for me cheap lippy or scent).

I live in fear of dying and my husband selling all my craft stuff for what he thinks I paid for it.

Anyway back to today. After we had been up to see Ma and deal with her daily doings I had lunch and decided to make a bit of a start at organising my stamps, my dies, my ribbons, my paper.

I sorted out all the stamps and dies that relate to Christmas. Now last year I salted these away and forgot to leave myself a memory jogger as to where they were stashed....so for reference and to help me find them when I come to make cards for this Christmas......the stamps are in the plastic craft chest in our bedroom...and the dies...well they wouldn't fit into the craft chest so they are in the bottom of my wardrobe.
Now I cannot use the excuse that I can't find my tools and buy myself replacement stuff!

You know how it is when you are meant to be sorting stuff out. It is inevitable that you get sidetracked. you find things you forgot you had.
That was me...quite a few times over.
In the end I started to make a birthday card for a child...a boy.
I hadn't a clue who it would be for, but I had the verse in my mind I had the design buzzing round my head and here I was with the tools in my hand.

So I made the card in a little under an hour.
It just needed the personalization adding. I couldn't do this as I had no idea who it would be for.
I had to pop across the road to see Nicola and on my way back home I bumped into a chap who often asks me to make cards for his family members.(he always gives me a donation to my Cancer charities for the cards I make - I don't actually sell them )

I know his daughter had a baby last year so I thought I would ask him when it was this little boy's birthday.

He was shocked when I asked him that question...and he told me he was shocked. I asked why.
He told me he was just on his way to my house to ask me to make a card for the little lad's first birthday which is on the 12th of this month.

I told him it as already made. All I needed was the little boys name so I could put it on the front.
Now was that spooky, or was that spooky?

I really didn't get much further with my sorting out, but then there is all weekend to start putting my dies into some sort of categories.

I have put pictures of the card and verse on so that you can see my time was well spent

Yes, definitely a bit spooky - but 'spooky' things happen to me so often I take them as the norm now. Seriously though, you really are very talented, Margaret. The Cancer charity will certainly be appreciating your talent and your generosity.

Thank you Dotti...
I don't really think I am talented. I am just persistent.
I watch tutorials and then I say to myself ' I can do that' so I try it. Sometimes it works out other times it doesn't, but the good thing about making cards is that you can usually salvage something from what you have done.Or most mistakes can be covered by a bow or a butterfly.

The chap was delighted with my effort...especially the verse.
Yes, my two Cancer charities benefit. I share the money out equally.
It gives me a bit of a buzz to be able to do something to help out
