102 yr old leaves England to move to New Zealand........ travelling by boat as well. Good luck to him and his wife.

What does an 102 year old look like ? Not many to compare with are there. LOL

I did wonder why on earth after 102 years in this country he would decide to emmigrate until I read that his wife is from New Zealand and they have been married 12 years. She will be returning home so that makes more sense to me.

I suspect he wouldn't have qualified for emigration on his own merit

it did say the reason was his missus was homesick.

You can be homesick for a place though. It doesn't necessarily automatically mean family although the chances are she does have generations of family there.
