The package.

I have just been reading Lettie's blog....the one where she tells us that she is off to NZ on Thursday......ooh it did make me long for an exotic holiday.

My blog is going to be really mundane.

Last week I ordered a new vacuum cleaner.......a dyson, one of those with the ball thingy.
I paid my money and waited impatiently for the shiny new thing to be delivered. It was coming by DHL, and according to the Curry's website would be delivered in 5 days......and I was given a tracking number so that I could keep an eye on when the package was to be delivered.
I estimated that perhaps it would arrive last Friday.
On thursday, I noted that the tracking site said that it was 'out, to be delivered'....so Thursday I stayed around the house waiting.....it didn't arrive.
Never mind, I thought to myself.....it is sure to come Friday.
I checked the tracking site to find that it said the package had been returned to base as there had been no-one to accept the package......and it gave a delivery time of 17.36......I was definitely in......the site also said a card had been left........well, I could see no card.
So GOK where they had tried to deliver my new vacuum cleaner, but it certainly wasn't to MY house.
I felt just a little infuriated. I got on the blower to DHL.......I spoke to a very pleasant lady and told her the saga......she asked me for my postcode.....I gave it......'hmmm,' she said 'that's what we have got down here......I don't quite know what went wrong, but your package will not be delivered now until Monday'...... she apologised profusely and told me that it would definitely be delivered today.

So today, again, I have hung around the house.......it arrived at 1.30......I couldn't wait to get into the box......I was all finger and thumbs.

I assembled the bits as per the instructions and plugged the beast in.

I have to say......it is quieter than my old model, it is easier to move around the place, it vacuums right to the edge of the carpet.....and goodness, I didn't really think there was so much muck in my carpet.

Well, I can recommend the DC15 from Dyson...a bit pricey, but it does get used every single dayIt should have been £364, but it was on special offer at Currys for half price...it is back up to £196 at present.
