The phone call.

The phone call came at lunch time the following day.
It was Alison.
'Good news Margaret, we can do this vacuum biopsy for you next Monday.
Can you come in at 2 pm?'
I told her that I could.
She told me to expect the procedure to take between one and two hours......it would be done under local anaesthetic, I could bring a friend or a family member, I could not drive home so I would have to plan transport home.
I would also have to plan to take it easy for 48 hours after the biopsy.

So there it was.
I would be having this special biopsy on the 14th of March.
The results would take seven days to come back, then the multidisciplinary team would look at the results and decide where we went from there.

I wasn't looking forward to this biopsy.
I was afraid that I would make a fool of myself by being a wuss.

Being the person I am, I started looking at how to make this procedure easier....to reducing the chance of complications....it was my way of being prepared.

To be continued.
