The Roxy Cinema.

When my Ma lived in Sheffield she used to go to the Roxy Cinema(when funds would allow).
The same cinema was still standing when I used to go to my Grandmas for the summer holidays...so i used to go there too.

Now Ma has this 40 inch Tv on a table near her bed she says it feels like she is at the cinema....and her and her little pal Roxy(the little dog) go upstairs in an afternoon and they both lie on the bed watching TV.
This has caused the bedroom to be dubbed 'The Roxy Cinema'.
Since Ma had her heart attack a year ago last May, I have been telling her that every afternoon she should go for a lie down.....feet up to give her heart a bit less work to do.

I have to say, that in the main, she has ignored this advice.
But since the TV was upgraded in her bedroom she has been going for a siesta...she watches old films and it takes her back.

I only wish I had had the gumption to think of it when she first came home from the hospital.

Carolyn, thank you for your kind comments about me being a 'good daughter'.
We only ever have one mum......we never get a second chance to do the right thing.
Ma and I have had our past, but we a;so have a very solid present.....I dread the day coming when she is no longer around.
So for that reason I make the most of the NOW.
I do for Ma what I think I would like doing for me if the positions were reversed.
Ma thinks I do too much....but I tell her that when I can no longer do it, then I will stop....hopefully that will be never.
