It was Mother’s Day over here a couple of weeks ago and my friend Faye (the same one who has appeared before in a blog) was quite overcome when the daughter of a close friend of hers gave Faye a beautiful hydrangea.
She decided to treat this flower with great respect and keep it going for as long as possible. Every day she carefully and tenderly took it out of the vase, changed the water, and then put the flower back in.
This continued for over two weeks and Faye was very pleased with herself but was also a bit surprised that the flower looked just the same then as it had in the beginning. That was until she suddenly realised that the flower was actually an artificial one….
…I think Faye should start thinking of going out a bit more.
