Traditional grub.

I am glad you all watch Come Dine with Me........I wouldn't like to dispel the rumours that I am a good cook.....I suppose it depends what you like......If you like traditional food......you know the sort of stuff your gran used to make......then Yes, I am an Ok cook.

I just don't do foreign.....altough I can be persuaded to cook Spag Bol if someone bigger than me forces my arm way up my back.....I will cook it, but I won't eat it......and as for foods from the Asian continent.......Aaaargh, that sends me in the general direction of a vomit bowl. I recently went to my daughters' home......she was in the kitchen stirring a panful of foul smelling brown gloop......a home made hot and spicy curry.....I made a hasty retreat into the living room...... but the smell seemed to have followed me......I could feel my breakfast looking for the fire exit......I had to come home. Believe it or not I could still smell the vile concoction on my clothes so I had to get stripped off and bung everything in the washer. I phoned her later and told her that I was not coming over again until her house had been decontaminated......I also told her that the asians use all those pungent spices to overcome the taste of rotten meat...and that since the advent of refrigerators it was unnecessary to use them.......she said she likes the taste! I think that perhaps I brought home the wrong child from the maternity home.

I can't help my tastes.....I inherited my love of traditional grub from my father......he wouldn't eat 'foreign muck'and that includes Pizzas, either. My mother once made a Hungarian Goulash......and my dad told her he would have to be very hungarian.....or very hung over before he would eat such rubbish.....and that night he dined on cheese on toast..... the lads ate it..... but they would eat the leg off the table they were that hungry.

So if you want a stick to the ribs dinner, a nursery pudding, or a basin of broth........you've come to the right place.
