Under pressure

I haven't posted for a while because I'm unsure about what I should write about. I've been incredibly busy for the last few weeks and I am starting to feel the strain a bit. International Women's Week is most of the workload as I'm personally organising four out of the nine events - two of which are the big Saturday ones. I have delegated some of the tasks but a lot of the weight is on my shoulders, particularly the promotion of them which means that if people don't turn up it could be my fault too.

We've also been under a bit of stress with Chris's job. His department got told that they would have to have three out of the nine of them made redundant. One guy took voluntary redundancy but that still meant two had to go. Although Chris didn't really think he would be the one to go it was still a difficult time. Anyway, he found out that his job was safe but it still means that two of his close colleagues are going.

I've also taken on a couple of other projects that I possibly should have said no to but when I get a good idea I don't like to waste it. Things should quieten down after March.

As for politics, well it's getting closer and closer and I'm getting slightly stressed with it all. I know I'm doing it for the right reasons but it's still hard.

I have the same advice to give as Garinda......except when it ALL gets just a bit too much take yourself off and lock yourself in the loo and spend a couple of minutes doing slow deep breathing......make sure the loo has one of those scented loo blocks first though or it could be dangerous! :)
