The other thing about this Fancy Dress Party is that at our house over the coming weeks things are going to be all upside down.
Last week we discovered dry rot in our floorboards.
We are currently in the process of emptying the lower floor of all furniture so that come a week next Monday the workman can come in and get down to sorting us out.
When I say 'we' are in the process of emptying the ground floor....that 'we' is me.
We may have to move out of the house for a few days.....so I might just go missing/offline.
You can be sure I will be kept out of mischief.
Because this work looks like it is going to be extensive we are taking the opportunity to get some other work done on the house.....and when all the work is finished, the house should be in good health until the both of us shuffle off this mortal coil.
The only thing is.......cost.
In two years it will be our golden wedding. I had been saving up to do something special....the money I had saved has had to be 'liberated' to pay for the repairs and renovations.
So when I buy a new sofa.....I might be telling himself ' happy golden wedding anniversary'....because this is your present.
