Warm and damp.

The day, that is. Warm and Damp.
Himself wanted to go to Ramsbottom today.
He was not too happy to see it spurtling down outside.
I took my time showering and having my breakfast. I was thinking that by the time I was ready the rain might have stopped.
He was walking up and down the house like a caged lion.
'Well, are we going out or not' he asked in brusque tones?
'It's wazzing it down' was my reply.
'It isn't doing much' he said.

I relented and got my rainmac out of the front room...picked up my bag and made for the front door.
He followed.
Not doing much - that is what he said. By the time I got to the canal bridge in Clayton my hair was plastered to my skull and I needed windscreen wipers on my glasses.
'This is ludicrous' I said. I turned on my heel and made for home.
He said he was going down Acc to get some carrots.
I told him he was mad and that we wouldn't die if we didn't get carrots for Sunday dinner.

I was thoroughly wet by the time I got into the house. Rain(ok it was warm rain) was dripping off the ends of my hair. I had to dry myself with a towel.
Getting wet does not improve my humour in any way.
I harumphed round the house with the vaccum cleaner...not in the best of moods.

I decided that as it was wet and looked like staying that way I would look through the pictures stored on the disks that I discovered under my desk.
I was going to be transferring these pics to the flash drive and to the portable hard drive.

I spent time looking at the pictures.
So today(in my head and on my computer screen) I have been all over Australia.
Ayers Rock in the rain - the humidity and the warmth was about the same here as I remember it to have been there......I just wasn't plagued with flies.
Alice Springs, the walk around the base of Kings Canyon(they wouldn't let me do the 'top' walk because I didn't have a litre of water with me - I told the guide I don't like water).......surfers, Brisbane, Caloundra, Byron Bay....The great Ocean Road, Mornington. All these places I visited without leaving the comfort of my chair.
So the day has not been lost. I have backed up these pictures and enjoyed looking at them, running the videos in my head.

What a great way to travel - especially without the flies!!!!! It is good that now you have discovered your disks you can do this trip again whenever you want to from the comfort of your chair.

Might add that I have lived here almost 57 years and haven't been to any of the places you mention!

Hope he thought the carrots were worth it, by the way.
