All done and dusted, and even the wrapping paper recycled too.
I think the cards might find their way to a recycling point soon. I did think I had made a fine job of sticking them onto the glass of the french doors into the front room....but Pasha (the cat) must not think much of my arrangement as she keeps knocking them off.
The ones she knocked off I put on the radiator shelf...she isn't too keen on them being there either...it is where she toasts her belly every evening....so she sends them off the shelf with a flick of her paw.
I didn't bother with any other Christmas decorations.......I did think I might put the two little mantel trees up......and some lights, but got a fit of the carmudgeons just before Christmas and in the end didn't bother.
The Christmas dinner/tea was very enjoyable...the beef was succulent and tender.....I did more Yorkshire pudding than was good for us, but we ate it (the dog just got a tiny bit - much to his disgust. I think he thought he was having a whole portion to himself. Dream on Gizmo,it was much too good for dogs)We had buttered carrots, Roast spuds and steamed tenderheart cabbage......the gravy was just right too.
there was not a scorrick left on the plates.
Afters?....I didn't have any. Himself had some Egyptian strawberries......a dollop of good Vanilla Ice cream(with little flecks of vanilla seed in) and a good glug of thick cream for good measure.
We weren't stuffed to the gills, we didn't fall asleep in front of the TV in a post prandial stupor(though with the programs that were on, it might have been better if we had)......I put new music on my MP4 player and spent the evening being transported back to the heady days of.......well, if not exactly my youth...the 1980's.
I received the Pink Floyd CD 'A Foot in the Door' as one of my Christmas gifts(thank you Nicola...it is great) and I had bought myself the Coldplay CD 'Mylo Xyloto' back in October and put it away as a gift to myself.
So while himself was watching some boring old Darts Championship on Sky TV...... I was foot tapping and head shaking to the music(probably with a huge daft grin on my chops).
I hope that you all had a lovely Christmas....and that not too many of your presents need returning for a refund.......and before we can wink, blink or turn around it will all be back again in 2012(perish the thought).
