I've been roped into looking after my neice and nephew today, aged nine and six respectively.

They broke up yesterday and have just been dropped off. They are quietly watching childrens television, but that ends in thirty minutes.

Any ideas what we can do near to Ossy?

We will probably go for a walk and feed the ducks, but after that I'm stumped.

Thers a 'fun place' inside Ossy mills it costs a few quid but may be enough to see you through a few hours and hopefully tire them out a bit as well

Sorry, forgot, Is the Library still open? Or buy some cheap coloring books and crayons and make a picnic up. Go up Rhyddings park and play on the park.

the park!! I have been out this morning and its cooooooooold :)

rent a playstation or summat hehehehehe

Take them to see Ice Age 2 at the VUE cinima in Accy at 12:45 then claim all 3 ticket price from your brother at 'expenses' :)

Remember kids don't feel the cold, its only old fogeys like us ;)

yeagh the whole point of babysitting is that you have to go to the park with them... old and cold :)

I'm sure that whatever you choose to do, they will just love spending time with their uncle..:)

Welcome to the world of children Rindy :D

Hey if you master today you might get more babysitting duties:p pmsl

Just got back from a two hour ramble, all rosey cheeked and happy.

Went to the play area at Ossy Mills. The indoor play area was closed, even though it said it was open?

An energetic hour was passed playing on the log assault course round the back of the mill, in the gardens. The landscaping has been improved since I last went round there. There are rabbits, ducks and fancy birds, 'gnome island', stepping stones, little bridges, plenty of seating, and it's all free!

A walk round Foxhill nature reserve to feed the birds, topped off our morning.

Total cost- one small loaf.:)

Even better, their Dad has just delivered our lunch.

Off for my pie 'n' peas and chocolate muffin.:)
