I've been racking my brains this weekend about a restaurant I visited back in the 70, I know it wasn't in this area but lots of people used to use it. I was out Bolton way and was housed in Railway Carriages, can't think what its was called or where it was any ideas:confused:

You sure it was out Bolton way and not this one.The Yew Tree on Oldham Road,
I've seen that one too Poly, but the one I'm thinking about is Bolton way, somewhere like Farnworth, I'm nearly sure its not there anymore because I haven't seen it advertised for ages, I went to a wedding reception in the early seventies

was it not at the
Strawberry Duck..a pub by the side of the railway on the
way to bolton from blackburn think it might have been Entwistle ??

:mosher::mosher:

Don't think so beechy, its now doing my head in, I'm going to do some googling :rolleyes:
Reckon I've found a pic of the rail carriage yer on about Jaysay..just by chance it's you having a chat with one of your old mates :D

Could be the Smithills we used to go there when I was little in the 70's still there apparently and you could sit in old horse carriages to eat I think. Over Bolton Way 70's carriages I think it fits the bill. Definitely the right sort of area too

I've been looking at that Rastus, but doesn't seem right, I only know that it certainly doesn't exist today, I scanned bolton eateries last night and nothing there

That's the one our family went to for special occasions in the 70's just sort of fitted never mind.
