I have just been reading a news article from the other side of the globe. Australia.
It seems that a young man is fighting for his life after eating a slug.
The slugs in Australia are big...and would almost, I guess make a full meal...or a decent snack at any rate.
A slug....who on earth would eat a slug?
And why? Wouldn't a pie or kebab have done the job better and been tastier to eat?
It would appear that he did this for a dare.
I am wondering how many pints of Castlemaine XXXX it took to get him drunk enough to do this stupid thing.
Anyway he is now in intensive care after contracting rat lungworm....a parasite that is carried by rats, excreted in their droppings and ingested by slugs......who, I am sure you know, will eat any kind of faeces.
The very thought of it makes me want hurl.
