I did grow garlic, but it wasn't wild garlic. Wild garlic grows mainly in shady areas, such as woodlands and I believe that you eat the leaves, not the bulbs.
I grew Solent Wight garlic as it's a hardy variety and grows better in our climate. I planted it in November and harvested it in August, so make sure that you can set aside the space for it as it takes a while to grow. There are varieties that grow at different times of the year, but the variety I grew keeps well, which is what I wanted.
Thanx for that. yes the wild garlic has edible leaves ideal for salads you can eat the bulbs but apparently they are very small. Where did you get the Solent White Garlic from....?
