A disappointment.

I have blogged recently about my daughter having been poorly.(and she has been really poorly)

I thought that perhaps a dose of sea air might do her good. Her Doctor still won't sanction her return to work...and she herself says that her brainpower is on a par with a gnat.

At the end of August we stayed in a lovely house in Llandudno.......I have been keeping my eye on the occupancy of this property and it has remained available for the half term week.
My plan was to take us(me, the tinlids and daughter) down there for the half term week.

I figured that the children would love it - they think it is 'their house' anyway......they love the sea front and the West beach with its huge play area.
I felt that Nicola could rest and relax in any way she felt disposed to......I would look after the children, and would do some cooking, but we could eat out too.
I had it all planned in my head......I was only waiting for the Doc to give her the green light at her check up today.........which he did.
I rang the lady that owns the house.....several times. I got the answer machine a few times........I don't have much truck with answer machines....I want to blow a raspberry at them.

I managed to get in touch with Eirys just after tea tonight...and what do you think?
The place was booked by someone else just this morning......buggerations.

Eirys said that if I had phoned this morning and explained the situation she would have done a provisional booking for us.........no good now though. So I am just a bit disappointed...no I'm lying. I had planned the days out in my head.......having Sunday Lunch at Tiffany's.......getting Nicola to have a sedate walk along the seafront(filling her lungs with the clean, gusty sea air...all that ozone)....telling the children bedtime stories made up on the spur of the moment.....playing hilarious games of monopoly in the evening........having freshly made pork pie from the Black Pig deli.
I'n blooming well kicking myself......so if you see me around town and I am limping...you will know why!

Is it not breakfast at Tiffanys Margaret ?:D Never mind you will have to have some days out by the sea instead. Better luck next time and by the way the pork pies sound good i am slavering just thinking about it:cook38:

I don't know about days out by the sea........The jaunt to Llandudno would have been just fine......an hour and a half down the motorway(with a following wind).....a house that is just like home to us.......and those luscious pork pies...still warm from the oven and dripping in juices.
The lass isn't well enough to do day trips......it's all she can do to get dressed....and while we were down there she wouldn't have to, unless it was to go out for a meal....and if she didn't want to go out, she could lounge on the big squishy sofa and watch DVD's.

Can understand how you feel, you've made all your plans, know exactly what you want to do, but then it doesn't get off the ground, "sick as a pig" seems to sum it up. :o

Anyways hope "Sis" gets better soon. ;)

thanks son, and you too Cashy. I thought I could see the corner we were going to turn...it looks like it is the corner on the other side of the street, and down the road a step.
More Blood tests next week......she says they have more of her blood than she does.
It is all just very wearying(not to mention worrying - I know too much)
