Was closed down by the brewery tosh. Nearly had the Hope & Anchor closing too but they got a reprieve. Was in the Observer at the time.

Have I dreamt that some pub was shutting and being turned into flats or have I heard it…is it the Broadway or I’m I just talking nonsense
shame if thats the case, the Broadway was a great boozer way back, all the bikers used to gather there late 60s n 70s, great jukebox, great landlord "Bob" who sadly passed away a few years back, his missus n daughter popped in me disco a few weeks back with some visitors from down south, we had a real good night reminising.

Got told it was some chain that does food as well (a la Smith& Jones, Wetherspoons).Seems to be the way our beloved public houses are going.Had some good nights in there in the early 70s.
