How do they do it?????

Beacon of light
Overlooker
I was just waking up. It was a little before seven am......how much before seven, I can't tell you. Without my glasses, the numbers on the alarm clock are just a green blurry light.
I felt Pasha land on the bed......been out all night, she had. Now she was looking for somewhere to warm her bones, and I was the lucky one.
She tunnelled under the duvet.......ugh, not only was she cold she was wet as well......trying to dry herself on me and purring fit to burst.
I lifted my head to look at the faint cracks of light that were coming in under the blind......hmmm, not much light at all...decidedly grey.
I really wanted to turn over and go back to sleep....couldn't do that......was going over the road to help daughter take the tinlids to School and pre-school.
I hauled myself up out of a very comfortable bed and padded across the landing.......bathroom and the ablutions over, I headed downstairs.
I made my single slice of wholemeal toast and a mug of strong tea.......I normally have my breakfast and look at the papers.....I don't enjoy breakfast nearly as much without the paper to look at. The paper hadn't arrived......so breakfast was over in a very short time.
Back up to the boudoir to get dressed and make myself look a bit presentable.

I straightened my hair.....put a bit of lip gloss on and then it was back downstairs and over the road....in the drizzle.
By the time I got over to daughters house, my hair was stuck out like sore fingers.
I could have saved my time and electricity!

Off to school.....still drizzling.
Get to the school gates and there are mothers there with their children, and they look like they have just stepped out of a beauty parlour.
Hair frizz free, make up pristine.....and clothes unruffled.
Am I missing a trick here?
And can someone tell me how they do it?
