Market Hall

Does anybody know if the market hall is open tomorrow?

I don't, sorry.

Good question though, as I'll be going there tomorrow to get my shopping...and there's no benches to sit on outside now, if they're shut for the extra Bank Holiday.

:D

The continental market's still on, and ends tomorrow.
Its ended today fer us. we went fer a sneck this aft n Paris was gonna purchase 2 very small portions of sweets..............Until he said £14-80.:eek::eek: Needless to say we gave that the thumbs down n retired to Costa fer a coffee.:D;)

In these tough times I can't imagine the regular traders will want to be closed tomorrow.

Interesting point. Think there has been quite a bit of debate as to the 'worth' of opening. I've decided not to. Due to our location in the town I expected us to be very quiet due to the lack of a bus service. Sunday service for Transdev and no local bus companies operating. Plus I'm knackered and I need a couple of days battery re-charging. However we are open on wednesday this week so not really taking an extra day.

At that price I'd want then with individually wrapped in gold leaf ! What was it that Mrs Cashy was thinking of buying ?
Dunno one was pink n white halves looked like nougat, tothers were little red ball shaped crap. I was too stunned to take that much notice.:eek:Just asked the boss, who has just come outa shock, They were coconut squares n the red balls were cranberry.

Have to say,we did expect to be paying a bit oer the odds, But never expected to encounter Dick Turpin.

Most of the continental markets are the same. Astronomical prices though some of the food is lovely if you can afford it. Can't see the logic in getting them to come to towns like Accy and Morecambe, not sure it encourages folk to spend in local shops when they come to look round the continental markets and end up in shock like Cashy.

the continental markets at Christmas in Manchester are good....and not badly priced stuff either

Don't blame you.

You'd only have had to pay yourself extra, for working a bank holiday anyway!

Hope you do recharge your batteries.

It's not easy.

Interestingly all royal gift shops are open, on both bank holidays.

Which rather makes a mockery of it all.

Yes - the Christmas markets tend to stay around longer - I used to visit the one in Birmingham. I'm talking really about the ones that seem to travel about and stop for three or four days max.

Did the person behind the counter not wear a mask and a three cornered hat cashy:rolleyes:

You're sure they weren't French performance artists?

Could have been a Flash Mugging, community arts event.
