Reading westenders blog about her brother made me laugh. So thought i'd tell you about my day with my brother. He's older than me - he was 49 last week and wind him up about his age seeing as he'll be 50 next year ......
Monday im still in bed ... and my mobile goes. Its my brother - "can i come and use your phone?" "Yeah give me half an hour and come down" - "im outside right now!!!" He should have been at work - well i thought he should have but turns out hes on holiday from work. I stuck the kettle on and he sat down and said wheres the phone - which is a very good question - when you have one of them cordless ones .. I said ring it - when it rings i'll find it. So he makes his call and the kettles boiled ... you want a brew ask a stupid question ... then i booted the computer up ..... and next thing he's playing bejewelled.
Now i used to play that game for free on real player but when i went to spuggies it was on sale in morrisons for 5.99 and i also got jewel quest for 5.99 as well. Anyway bro once he knew i'd got the full version and he saw the scores i had - it bugged him so now he keeps trying to beat my scores ..... and fails miserably. He is very competitive ... and hates me beating him. By this time it was about 1pm ....... at 2pm and hes still playing bejewelled ... i asked him have you had any dinner .. he said no - do you want some ..... so made him a butty and another brew and he's getting wound up at the game ..... then he started talking about when we were kids growing up. My brother is a diabetic - type 1 - the ones who have the injections, so he has to eat regular meals etc
He used to work with my dad during the summer months - my dad was a feltroofer and had his own business. One summer he said he'd worked all summer for him and he hadnt got paid at all .... so when he said to my dad im not coming to work tomorrow if you dont pay me - my dad gave him a tenner and that was for the 5 weeks before!!!!
But he'd got one of my brothers mates working with him and paid him £10 a week!!! I said well i got out of that because dad fell ill when i was in the 4th/5th year and so i didnt have to go to work with him. Then he said what about that garage - it needs knocking down before it falls down!!! Him and dad built it because my dad bought a new car - an austin princess and it wouldnt fit in the old garage so he built a bigger one - with room to put the felt in as well as the car. Its about 30 years old and it still doesnt let rain in - the roof is probably the strongest bit of it!!!!
Anyway brother was still playing bejewelled on the computer and it was 5pm ..... I said you want some tea ..... its spag bol what i made last night ..... so he ended up having tea as well, and made the suggestion that it was too dry i should have put a tin of tomatoes in, and then sat and played bejewelled and watched tv ........ until i booted him out at 10pm ..... I gave him the reason because spuggie would be ringing ... he said you kicking me out just for that!!! Well wouldnt you want to talk to spug in private rather than having your older bro in the same room.
This is the same brother who got banned from driving by the courts before he even had a licence!!!! But i havent seen or heard from him since so he must have found something to do this week.
